"I am totally loving the time I spend with my pet. My pet (Happy) takes all the attention in the house during this time. Spending time with him throughout the day is also not enough at the end! Happy is definitely a stress buster and mood lifter in the house,” said Vinay Sindya.
Actor Manoranjan Ravichandra has a new dog at his home and he is spending a lot of time with it during the quarantine period. “My pets keep me stress-free. Half of the time, I will be running behind Oscar. He is just 45 days old, he keeps biting everything and it's very hard to catch hold of him. It's kind of fun, and everyone likes dogs at home. We already have 4 dogs and this guy is the fifth one.”
Samyukta Hornad who is an animal lover has been feeding animals during the lockdown crisis by creating a huge chain across Bangalore. She spoke about her pet at home, a cat named Layla, and said, “They say not everything in nature has a function other than to just be. In a time like this... animals are very unaware of the big bad world, they don’t see the cruelties that exist. There’s so much to learn from animals. In a time like this, they bring in a lot of comfort and happiness. It’s definitely very therapeutic.”

“We got Happy home just a week before the first lockdown was imposed. I felt it was the right time to bring him home. So, seeing him grow has been a treat for me from the past few months. Right now, Happy is the one who wakes me up in the morning. He follows me wherever I go and keeps me occupied. Pets create good bonding with us! And bring the family together. Petting your furry friend releases “feel good” chemicals, such as serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine, all of which offer a mood boost and promote social bonding, qualities that are even more important during times of pandemic-induced anxiety and isolation,” said Vinay Sindya.

Manoranjan added, “Oscar keeps me busy because he sleeps with me, and I pet him and feed him. I am loving this job, it's like taking care of a kid. He has been in the house for the past 10 days and I don't know how time is flying. I have only been looking after him; I have forgotten all my plans, schedules.”
